SOC Cyber Security Analyst

Cyber Security is a critical part of protecting Switzerland’s critical infrastructure. As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will be part of the Cyber Defense Center and play an active role in detecting cyber threats, investigating security incidents, and implementing effective countermeasures.

You will work across Security Operations, Incident Response, Threat Hunting, and Security Engineering. You will monitor the international threat landscape, with a particular focus on the energy sector, and contribute to the continuous development of the organization’s cybersecurity capabilities.

• Contribute actively to the Cyber Defense Center and its continuous development
• Perform threat modelling and develop new SIEM use cases
• Analyse cyberattacks, develop countermeasures, and coordinate responses during security incidents
• Further develop and improve the incident response process
• Conduct forensic analysis of compromised systems and proactively hunt for threats
• Monitor and assess the international cyber threat landscape, particularly in the energy sector
• Lead security engineering projects and improve or introduce new security tools
• Maintain close collaboration with SOCs, CERTs, other critical infrastructure operators, and relevant authorities
• Participate in an on-call rotation of approximately 6–8 weeks per year
• The position is security-sensitive and requires successful completion of the applicable personnel security screening!

• 3–4+ years of hands-on experience as a SOC Analyst, Incident Responder, or in a comparable cybersecurity role
• Degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of SIEM, EDR, and/or NDR technologies
• Experience analysing, investigating, and triaging security incidents
• Practical experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages
• Understanding of Industrial Control Systems (ICS); knowledge of technical environments in electrical substations is an advantage
• Analytical and structured approach with a strong problem-solving mindset
• Team-oriented personality who enjoys working in a diverse environment
• Very good English skills; German is an advantage
